The Engineering: 478 Data Points, Zero Latency

We moved away from generic "age guessing" neural networks to a deterministic, hybrid model. By leveraging Google's MediaPipe technology, we now project a 478-point 3D mesh onto the user's face.

This allows us to measure specific aging vectors with sub-millimeter precision:

The Science: Why "Texture Entropy" Matters

While geometry tracks the bone and muscle structure, we needed a rigorous way to analyze the skin itself without relying on subjective lighting.

We implemented GLCM (Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix) analysis. This is a statistical method used in medical imaging (like MRI tumor detection) to quantify texture. In the context of your face, we use it to measure Entropy and Homogeneity.

Low Entropy: Indicates uniform, healthy collagen structures. ✔ High Entropy: Signals chaos in the skin matrix—often a result of photoaging (UV damage) and glycation (sugar-induced protein damage).

By combining the Geometric Score with the Texture Entropy Score, we generate a Relative Aging Profile. Instead of guessing a specific number, our model determines if your biological markers classify you as Younger, Average, or Older than your chronological age—offering a result that is far more robust than a simple visual guess.

Privacy Architecture: Client-Side Only

Biometric data is sensitive. Most commercial face tools upload your image to a cloud server, where it is stored, processed, and potentially used to train other models.

We rejected that architecture.

The new Face Age Calculator is built on TensorFlow.js. This means the model weights are downloaded to your device, and the entire analysis happens locally in your browser.
