Overview
Modern Med Life ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our AI Longevity Assistant and other health tools.
What We Collect
Authenticated Users
- Chat messages you send to the AI Longevity Assistant
- AI-generated responses
- Your Google account email and display name (via Firebase Authentication)
- Files you upload during a chat session
- Health profile data you voluntarily provide (age, sex, biomarkers, medical conditions, medications, family history)
- YouTube video URLs you submit for analysis
- URLs, documents, images, PDFs, or CSV files you submit for chat analysis
- Chat preferences stored in browser cookies (personalization mode, grounding mode)
Anonymous Users
- A browser session cookie is used to associate your anonymous chats with your device
- Chat messages and AI responses are stored with a 7-day expiration window
- If you include identifying details or health information in an anonymous chat, that information may be stored in the chat transcript until it expires or is deleted
- If you use the health profile while anonymous, it is stored in your browser's local storage until you clear it or clear browser data
- If you sign in, your anonymous chats can be transferred to your account
How We Store & Protect Your Data
- Chat data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, which provides encryption at rest by default
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
- Anonymous chats and messages are configured to expire after 7 days; authenticated chats and messages after 90 days, unless pinned
- You can delete any conversation at any time from the chat sidebar
- Uploaded chat files are stored in Firebase Storage and are deleted when you delete the associated conversation or account
- API endpoints are protected by Firebase App Check to prevent unauthorized access
Third-Party Services
Google Gemini API
Your chat messages are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate AI responses. Uploaded files, submitted URLs, YouTube URLs, and health profile data may also be sent to Gemini when needed to answer your request or personalize your response. Under our paid API tier, Google does not use your data to train their models.
- Google temporarily logs prompts and responses for approximately 55 days solely to detect policy violations
- If flagged by automated safety classifiers, retention may extend to approximately 90 days
- For queries using Web Search, Google separately retains the prompt and response for 30 days to generate search results
We do not sell consumer health data, and analytics are disabled on chat and health-tool routes.
Firebase (Google Cloud)
We use Firebase for authentication, data storage, and hosting. Firebase is covered by Google Cloud's Data Processing Addendum.
Your Rights
- Delete conversations — Remove any chat from the sidebar at any time
- Use anonymously — Use the AI Longevity Assistant without signing in (chats are configured to expire after 7 days)
- Pin important chats - Pinned authenticated chats are kept until you unpin or delete them
- Withdraw health profile sharing - Clear saved health profile data from the Health Profile dialog at any time
- Data portability - Export individual chats to Google Docs or contact us to request a broader data export
- Account deletion - Delete your account from the user menu to remove stored chats, messages, health profile data, uploads, and your authentication record
