Dr. Alexa Owens
Description
Dr. Alexa Owens is a board-certified family medicine physician with a focus on lifestyle medicine. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Owens earned her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton and completed her family medicine residency at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg. While cheering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Owens witnessed many injuries on her team. This led her to pursue medical school, so that she could help others prevent injuries. Her interest grew into a greater focus on prevention over treatment, which is the foundation of her care.
My goal is to get to know my patients on a deep personal level. Together, we can develop individualized lifestyle plans to help optimize health and prevent chronic disease and illness.
